The duties and responsibilities shall include but are not limited to:

  1. Implementing academic guidelines and policies;
  2. Ensuring preparation of University examinations;
  3. Ensuring safe custody of examinations;
  4. Coordinating processing of academic reports;
  5. Processing student admissions;
  6. Managing students' databases on admissions and other related records;
  7. Developing guidelines on students' discipline and welfare;
  8. Managing students' discipline and welfare;
  9. Ensuring adherence to ethics and professional conduct and standards in the University;
  10. Preparing certificates and transcripts for students;
  11. Ensuring dispatch of examination materials;
  12. Managing examination records;
  13. Verifying examination marks;
  14. Preparing Departmental work plans and budgets;
  15. Monitoring and evaluation of learning and teaching;
  16. Coordinating student exchange programmes;
  17. Coordinating students’ industrial attachment;
  18. Coordinating research and innovation activities; 
  19. Coordinating Alumni activities;
  20. Supervising Department staff.

For appointment to this Grade, one MUST have:

  1. A Master’s degree in a relevant area of a recognized and accredited University;
  2. At least twelve (12) years relevant work experience with at least three (3) years as an Assistant Registrar, Grade 12 or its equivalent;
  3. Leadership and Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks cumulatively;
  4. An outstanding professional competence in administration and management;
  5. Attained membership of a recognized professional administration or management body where applicable;
  6. Computer proficiency and conversant with the use of web-based technologies, including LMS and ERP systems.
